Ask us anythingCan I get a mortgage if I don’t live in Portugal?
Portuguese lenders consider applications from non-residents. Your income, existing commitments, deposit, residency and the property all matter. We help you prepare your application, but approval and lending terms are decided by the bank.
Do I need to have found a property already?
No. An initial assessment can help you understand your budget before you start viewing. A final lending decision will also depend on the chosen property, its valuation and the lender’s requirements.
How much deposit will I need?
The amount depends on the lender, your circumstances and the lower of the purchase price and bank valuation. You should also budget separately for taxes, legal costs, registration, insurance and bank fees. We help you understand the figures for your case.
Is your service really free?
Yes. You do not pay us a fee for credit intermediation. We are remunerated by the lender, with the relevant information disclosed in the mortgage documentation. The mortgage and property purchase still have their own costs.
Can you help if my income is earned abroad?
Yes. We work with international buyers, including employees, self-employed applicants and retirees. Lenders may request additional evidence or translations, particularly when income is earned in a different currency.
Can I organise the mortgage from another country?
Much of the preparation and communication can take place remotely. Identity checks, document certification and completion arrangements depend on the lender and the professionals handling the purchase. We help you establish what needs to happen in person.
